In my short video piece the other day, I brought up that oil production could very easily be spun up to provide relief to the current situation involving the cut-off of Russian oil. I will reiterate that I believe this to be only a near term solution, and Elon Musk seems to agree:
"Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately," Musk tweeted Friday. "Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures." Musk added, "Obviously, this would negatively affect Tesla, but sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react instantaneously to make up for Russian oil & gas exports."
Elon, without knowledge of my very existence, has supported my point that our alternative sources for energy are just not ready for prime time. We have to use what we have now while the alternatives can be developed (or as I said, "matured" ).
Can't say I'm a fan of being in alignment with a right wingnut, but here it is: "America is funding Russia’s war by buying Russian oil and gas rather than producing our own," Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert responded. I guess that blind squirrel found a nut.
My more liberal (specifically environmentalist) friends need to understand that we can work toward all manner of alternative energy sources, but making radical moves without equal output, at any step along the way, only puts us in a weakened energy position relative to the other powers of the world. It harms our economy and endangers our freedoms. This last point can't be overlooked. I do not like any policy that puts our freedoms at risk.
The less dependent we become on fossil fuels, the better off we will all be. Right at this moment, we need to tap the source we have. And if you will pardon my language on this: We are sitting on a shit ton of oil and gas.

Bet you didn’t know there would be a test…..
So, I have completed 4 of 6 chemo infusions, and I have to say that the last one seems to have caused almost no side effects that cannot be otherwise explained by the disease itself. I remain exhausted all the time, and I go home at the end of the workday positively depleted. That, however, seems to be due to the anemia that somewhat existed before chemo started but certainly seems to have been exacerbated by it.
I presently sit at a 40% disability rating with the Veterans Administration with some big stuff pending. I am awaiting a decision on my hearing loss and the PTSD/Depression. The cancer aspect takes a step forward with an exam by a VA contracted provider who will provide a recommendation as to the service connection to the cancer. If it goes my way and I get to 100%, then as soon as the first check hits the bank, I’m retired. While this exam is scheduled for Monday, I have no assurance that a VA determination will be quickly forthcoming. Patience is the key.
